This month’s candle is raising funds for those struggling and in need of help in Ontario. 211’s telephone line and online directory help Canadians deal with life’s challenges. The service connects users with vital community and social resources, close to home and specific to their needs. From basic needs like housing and food, to support for seniors and children, to responding to crisis situations, 211 is there. Telephone lines for emotional support, crisis intervention and suicide prevention, elder abuse, shelters, immediate and ongoing support for victims of crime…United way is a founding partner of the 211 hotlines. 15% of the funds raised from this candle will go towards the 211 hotlines.
